Overview:
- Red Rock is making great strides to reduce energy usage and conserve our precious resources
- Since opening in April 2006, many steps have been taken to become more energy efficient and to implement recycling programs
- Most of the programs are invisible to the guest
- Continuing to find more solutions and programs

What Our "Green" Programs Accomplish
- Reduce electricity and natural gas usage
- Reduce water usage
- Reduce waste in landfills

Recycling/Disposal
Red Rock implemented the company’s first recycling programs in late 2007
- Products recovered include: glass, cardboard, aluminum, plastic, food waste, fryer oil and kitchen grease
- Red Rock went from filling 14 trash compactors per week to eight per week
- Red Rock recycles about 35 tons of solid waste per month
- Plastic, Aluminum & Glass: 10.5 tons/month
- Cardboard: 24 tons/month
- Red Rock recycles 23,000 gallons of used kitchen grease & fryer oil annually, which is converted into bio-diesel fuel or other recycled uses
- Food waste is delivered for use as feed at R.C. Combs animal farm
- Our overall recycling efforts save approximately more than 10 trash-filled trucks from going to landfills each month
- Depleted batteries are collected and sent to the appropriate hazardous waste facility
- Burned-out linear and compact fluorescent light tubes and bulbs collected sent for disposal at appropriate hazardous waste facility

Water Conservation
- Linen Exchange Program - towels left on rack do not get washed, substantially reducing annual water consumption
- Water used in the Red Rock water features was made possible by a 200,000 square foot turf conversion into water-smart landscaping at Santa Fe
- Drift eliminators automatically shut off water features when wind is blowing
- Water-smart plants and artificial turf are used throughout Red Rock including its lush pool area

Energy/Electricity & Natural Gas
- Marquee signage is energy-efficient LED based technology, which reduces energy consumption by about 85% over traditional incandescent signage
- Energy efficient guest room thermostats reduce energy consumption by over 35% versus traditional thermostats
- Red Rock’s guest rooms feature energy efficient compact fluorescent lighting
- Red Rock’s guest room corridors feature energy efficient LED lighting
- The Central Plant which supplies cooling and heating to the buildings is among the most efficient in Clark County
- Red Rock has reduced its energy consumption by about 8% since opening in April 2006
- Red Rock is currently installing more energy efficient lighting which will further reduce electricity consumption in 2010
- Team Members actively participate: in December 2007 Red Rock worked with Nevada Power and donated 15,000 compact fluorescent lights for use in Team Member's homes
- Annual electricity savings from post-opening energy retrofit projects equals powering more than 375 homes in valley annually
- Red Rock is planning to install additional energy efficient lighting in 2010, which will further reduce energy consumption by the equivalent of more than 125 homes
